Everyone here at Altonlea are sorry to announce we have decided to close down the guest house.
We have been absolutely delighted to have welcomed you in the past and thank you for staying with us here and giving us a lifetime of memories.
My mum and dad (Olwen and Tony) established the main house as a guest house just under 50 years ago and embarked on a renovation and improvement regime that continues to this day. I (Lee) took over about 15 years ago with their support.
They still help out everyday but it’s becoming clear that the only way they could have a real retirement would add additional costs to running the house and would mean charging more, and by charging more we would need to go VAT registered, adding a further cost onto our guests.
We thank each and everyone of you who have stayed with us, but send an extra thank you if you’ve taken the time to leave us a review! Though we’ve never felt comfortable advertising or promoting using the reviews and feedback our previous guests have given us we truly appreciate your comments!
Should anyone be interested, we have placed the property up for sale with a local estate agent Manners & Harrison.
Once again, thank you to each and everyone who has ever stayed with us. We have been so lucky and blessed to have had such lovely guests over the years and have so many fond memories, so thank you!
Olwen, Tony & Lee
(And Jan and Sheila too!)
